Del.icio.us

Unfortunately, the 12 minute tutorial video on del.icio.us seems unavailable to view, but the article Several Habits of Wildly Successful Del.icio.us Users is terrific! http://slackermanager.com/2005/12/the_several_hab.html

I did set up an account and posted a few bookmarks. Looking at the del.icio.us pages of some of the libraries listed on MD Libraries Learning 2.0 can lead off in a lot of different, interesting directions. One site that I like particularly is on the San Mateo page, Lib Site http://libsite.org/ .

One of the hardest things about del.icio.us is typing the word, getting those dots in the right places!

Useful Library-related Blogs/News Feeds

I've subscribed to -- and read some postings from -- the following:

Information Wants to Be Free
Library Bytes
The Distant Librarian
The Shifted Librarian
and, of course, Unshelved.

Maximise the Power of Your Brain - Tony Buzan MIND MAPPING

Stumbled on this YouTube video when playing with Rollyo.

LibraryThing and Rollyo

LibraryThing seems to be a great way to keep track of books read and books to read.

Building a searchroll with Rollyo was fun. The topic I chose is mind mapping.

Online Image Generators

One of the most fun things I've done with online image generators is to use them to make signs for posting on the inside of the back door at JAR. Keeping fresh, sometimes funny, signs that remind us to forward the phone, turn off the OPEN sign, etc. up for us to see as we're exiting at closing helps assure that we'll remember. . .

One of the favorites has been the Bart Simpson Chalk Board Generator (I will not forget to forward the phones. I will not forget to forward the phones. I will not forget. . .)

RSS Feeds

Now, I just need to remember to take advantage of having all this info coming in such a nice consolidated way! News feeds -- NYT home page and Book Reviews; Library-related feeds -- Librarians Internet Index - New This Week, Library Journal News, PLA blog, The Shifted Librarian; and, for fun -- Boing Boing, dictionary.com word of the day.
